Schrader's Yamaha DC Bank SMX Racing coming to the Canadian Nationals - The Saskatchewan Motocross Racing team includes Pro Shawn Maffenbeier and Women’s National racer Denaye Giroux.

Schrader's Yamaha DC Bank SMX Racing is pleased to announce it's debut year to the Monster Energy MX Nationals for 2010.

Although it's a new name the faces are familiar to the national motocross scene. Randy and Jackie (LaRochelle) Maffenbeier are the owners and managers of this year's race team. "We are excited to bring our professionalism and experience back to the track in an official aspect," said the M&M's. "Past years on the national series have provided the inspiration to acquire the security of a great line up of sponsors to enable the team to be in a position to put forth competitive riders."

Having Rick Bradshaw from Schrader's Motorsports and Yamaha Canada with their GYTR product and Yamalube on board again this year has certainly lightened the load. The 2010 Yamaha 450F and 250F are the sweetest rides yet. Stock, they're dangerous, a few tweaks from our team at Rekluse, Superior Suspension Settings and TUbliss,  they're out of this world!

A new sponsor, DC Bank with head offices in Calgary, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario, bring added exposure across Canada and the US. Jeff Smith, Principal of Direct Cash Management Company and avid Baja racer, knows what it takes to keep a team on the road...CASH!

2010 Montreal Supermotocross Tickets Go On Sale Tomorrow

The Great Annual Fall Extravaganza Returns to Olympic Stadium Saturday October 2, 2010

33rd Montréal Supermotocross Tickets Go On Sale Tuesday at 10:00 am

Montréal, May 10, 2010 - The most exciting fall sporting event in Quebec, one where families and friends, motocross and motorsports fans alike attend from all over, the Montréal Supermotocross, presented by Coors Light and Parts Canada/Thor, will be back Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Olympic Stadium. Tickets for the 33rd running of the spectacular event, which will see organizers offer nearly 50,000 spectators several novelties, will go on sale tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.

"We are currently working on the creation of a program which will include the most successful acts from our recent editions and novelties that will, we are assured, greatly please our thousands of spectators," event promoter Pierre Corbeil said. "Each year, the Montréal Supermotocross draws people from all corners of Quebec, Eastern Canada and the New York-New England areas. We are quite conscious of the popularity of motocross, ATV and other categories of the sport that are run in regional events, and that is why we want to make sure that our event is absolutely worth the trip. At the end of Saturday evening, when whole families or groups of friends, return home to Cornwall, Gatineau, Ottawa, Sherbrooke, Plattsburgh or Burlington, we want them to have fully appreciated their evening and the show at the Olympic Stadium, and have fond memories of the event."

Even though we expect to reveal at a future date the full extent of the program for the 33rd Montréal Supermotocross, we can announce at this point that MX1 and MX2 motocross classes are confirmed as well as the ATV category. The ever-growing EnduroCross class, which was introduced in last year's schedule, will also be back. "As for the EnduroCross," explained the promoter "we are currently working on a more insane course design for participants, and at the same time, a more spectacular show for fans." Of course, the Montréal Supermotocross would not be complete without its Freestyle Contest, one of the highlights of the evening.

Once again, the organization is paying full attention to the planning of the layouts from which different tracks are going to be built. "We have always said that there is nothing but good seating for fans around the Olympic Stadium. Once again, we are going to make sure that all seats offer excellent viewpoints on the action, and that everyone in attendance will be able to fully appreciate the exciting starts of every race where no less than 20 riders line-up," concluded Pierre Corbeil.

The most-coveted seats in the house, as well as all reserved seating, will go on sale Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Aside from the local professional NHL and CFL teams, the Montreal Supermotocross is the oldest running sporting event in Montreal. Since the launch of the event in 1977, it has been presented annually except the year the Olympic Stadium was closed due to repairs. To date, more than 1.6 million spectators have crossed the turnstiles of the Olympic Stadium to watch more than 150 participants from Canada, the United States, and Europe, who each year accept the organizers invitation to compete in Montreal. An event, whose popularity cannot be denied, draws nearly 50,000 spectators made of families and friends from all regions of Quebec, Eastern Canada and Northeastern of the United States.

CBC News - Prince Edward Island - Battle renewed against motocross park

A group of residents who live near Mudrooters Motocross Park in Desable, west of Charlottetown, are trying a new approach to getting the business shut down.

MLA Valerie Docherty said there is no solution that will please everyone. (CBC)

Local residents have complained for years about noise from park. Now they want an environmental assessment done.

"Anything that causes public concern should have an environmental impact assessment, which is paid for by the proponents," Mike Reid, who has gathered 21 signatures on a petition, told CBC News Tuesday.

"If something like that were [done], and they were able to pass something like that, then I would have no choice but to move away or get used to it."

Area MLA Valerie Docherty presented the petition to the legislature, but said she won't be taking sides. She said there is no solution that will make everyone happy.

"One group will never be happy unless it stops, and the other group will be happy if they can continue with their sport as they've been doing," said Docherty

Assessment possible

Mudrooters closed down voluntarily for a time last summer to deal with a problem of silt running off the site. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans ordered more work done last fall.

Currently federal and provincial officials say the park is complying with all laws.

"I cannot, just based on a petition, put people out of business. Otherwise there would be not many businesses on P.E.I. because everybody would complain against the business beside them to get them shut down," said provincial Environment Minister Richard Brown.

"That's not going to happen here. But I'm willing to do an environmental assessment to make sure all environmental laws are being treated here."

Brown said he'll take the idea back to his department to see if that's necessary.

P.E.I. has no legislation regarding noise, but Brown said measurements have been made and based on legislation in other jurisdictions the noise coming from Mudrooters is not a problem.

Dylan's Update: Round 1 of Ontario CMRC Provincial motocross Championships

I know it's been a while since I've sent an update so let me get you up to speed.  I've been super busy balancing teaching, coaching, training, and riding (oh ya and planning a wedding - ok, actually Lindsey's taking care of that - isn't she the best?!). I'm just riding the 450 this year which I'm really happy about actually. I've decided to race the Ontario Provincials and the 5 East Coast Pro Nationals, as well as a few select Pro-Ams in the U.S.

I picked up an '09 for a great price at Yamaha East in Ohio and they've been helping me out a lot with parts which has been great. DYDD Systems helped me do up all the graphics for my van which looks awesome and will be getting lots of great exposure for all my sponsors (don't forget this van is also my daily commuter!) - thanks Daniel! I also need to say how awesome the graphics Decal Works did for my bike this year - I was getting a lot of complements at the race. I'm super pumped to have Troy Lee Designs Canada, Dr. D, Factory Connection Canada, Vortex, Scott USA, Strictly MX, and Savage Racing Products helping me out again this year too. Fate Photography (aka Lindsey) of course will be responsible for the awesome photos I'll continue sending throughout the year. I'll be posting some new riding photos later this week at www.dylanlanglois.com as well as my facebook fan page (search DL Racing).

Race Report:
It was at Gopher Dunes for Round 1 of the Provincials and also my first race of the year. I was supposed to get in a "warm up" race last weekend but the weather didn't cooperate so it took me a moto to get the first race jitters (and arm pump!) out of my system...well actually I think it took 2 or 3 to get all the arm pump out of my system! Nonetheless, I was pretty satisfied with how everything turned out considering the luck I had at my 2 appearances last year at that track (blown up bike and an injured knee) and that I haven't raced since last September...man do I need to work on my starts in the sand though. Here's my results:

MX1 Pro: 11-9, 9th overall (22 riders)
Youth: 4-6, 5th overall (18 riders)

Now that the ball's rolling, I'm already looking forward to this weekend at Auburn for Round 2!
Thanks again to everyone who's sticking behind me this year and for all the ongoing support - I couldn't do it without all of you.
