Huron County native, Chef Scott Baechler, adds another gold medal to his collection at a recent Escoffier Society Competition in Toronto.

Chef Scott Baechler - Home-grown in Huron County

Known for his charismatic personality and world class culinary skills, Chef Scott Baechler has established a solid reputation in the culinary community with over 20 years experience in international five star hotel properties as an educated and modern chef.  Traveling the globe, working with product from around the world, having the opportunity to cook for the rich and famous, and working collaboratively with renowned and celebrated chefs in some of the finest kitchens, comprise what Baechler considers the best parts of his career.

Baechler’s vision of becoming a chef began at the very young age of eight, influenced by his grandmother (Velma Miller) who ventured into her own catering business in Seaforth, Ontario.  He was inspired by his family’s recipes, but compelled to add his own flare and personal variations.

He views “not settling for second best” crucial to his own success and he appreciates the importance of maintaining clear expectations and high standards for quality.

He is now pursuing new goals, including estages in some of North Americas top kitchens.  His continuous pursuit of knowledge and desire to stay current show no sign that Baechler is slowing down.
