TEAM TOYOTA YAMAHA RED BULL BLACKFOOT FOX RACING PREPARED FOR KAMLOOPS and LAUNCHES NEW RACING WEBSITE
Team Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing would like to thank all their great sponsors for their continued support in helping assemble a championship effort at the opening round of the 2009 CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. The series kicks off this weekend, June 6/7, at Kamloops, BC.
Last year’s MX1 National Champion Colton Facciotti is back to defend his title, with 2006 MX1 National Champ Dusty Klatt as his wingman. The YZ450F-mounted duo are definitely on a championship hunt in the big bike MX-1 class. The powerhouse talents of Aron Harvey and Kyle Beaton will be pursuing the MX-2 Championship aboard Yamaha’s amazing YZ250F.
When the dust cleared in 2008 Colton Facciotti left no doubt he was the fastest man in Canada. He ended last season with yet another huge double victory at Walton, leaving the competition stunned. Facciotti is strong, confident and proud of the way the Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox team has come together. “I am riding a little better than last year,” he says. “We got the testing done early, and we’ve got a really fast team this year with Dusty and Aron and Kyle. The team gets along well on and off the track, and I know we are all really prepared for this season.”
Dusty Klatt is stoked to be back with Yamaha and the Blackfoot Team. His newly lit inner fire was burning enthusiastically when he said, “I’m pumped to be back with the team and the awesome sponsors that come along with it! I like riding the Yamaha a lot, and we’ve worked hard to get the bike set up for me for this weekend. This is the best I’ve been riding in a while, so I know I will re-open some eyes this season.”
Aron Harvey had a season of highs and lows in 2008. Winning three nationals, the Carson City, NV, native proved one thing for sure. When he’s on, he’s unbeatable. A broken leg halted his charge last season, but he’s healed and ready for Kamloops. “This isn’t my first season in Canada anymore, so I feel like a lot of the pressure is off me,” he says. “I’m 110 percent and feeling good. The bike is better than last year, and my mechanic and the guys do an awesome job, so I’m looking forward to this. I’m really confident and I know what to expect. This is gonna be fun!”
Kyle Beaton, a long time Yamaha support rider, has earned the respect of everyone in Canadian motocross and earned the opportunity this year to race with Team Toyota Yamaha Red Bull Blackfoot Fox Racing. “It feels good to be with this team. I can’t wait to get the season started! They’ve been great, and working down in Georgia with Colton and JSR helped my riding a lot. It’s like one big family on this team, so everything is going really smooth. I feel like my riding has improved over last year. We’ve done the hard work and have been ready for a few weeks now, so I just want to get it started!”
“It is really hard to imagine the time, effort and commitment it takes to build a National Championship contending motocross team,” said Team Owner Jason Mitchell. Every member has worked so hard this year I am positive we will be rewarded with strong results at this year’s opening round. Not only have the riders been focused on our goals, every team member including JSR (Rider Coach), Dean Thompson (Team Manager), Joe Skidd (Suspension Specialist), Andrew MacLean (Lead Technician), and Mechanics Jeff Mason, Ken Thiessen, Scott Donkersgoed and Derek Sorkilmo have been approaching this year with a true vengeance. The competition will be prepared as we! ll, which makes for an exciting weekend of racing.”
