Private training is offered mid-week only and a few days notice is required to confirm a time slot with an instructor. Jean-Sébastien Roy Named Technical Director of the Supermotocross EN35)
"We could not have picked a better man for the job," said Pierre Corbeil, promoter for the event. "Jean-Sébastien understands the sport, is aware of the drivers expectations, and also knows what pleases the crowd. Asking him to map out the different courses at the Olympic Stadium is a bit like asking him to overhaul his transporter. He knows every nooks and cranny. With the background acquired while running in Canada, the United States and Europe and the experience designing many types of courses at his home track over the years, we are certain that the layout of the different tracks will be most challenging to the riders at the upcoming Montreal event."
The new Technical Director of the Montreal Supermotocross has had a long and illustrious journey over the past 20 years. Highlights of his professional career include 29 wins and five Canadian motocross championships. Roy also made it twice to the World Finals held in Europe. Jean-Sébastien Roy has competed 15 times at the Olympic Stadium, winning five grand finales, and finishing nine times on the podium. Last year, in his final salute to his Montreal fans and ultimate professional race, he won the MX1 class even though he almost did not make it, as he had to win the last-chance heat race to secure an entry for the grand finale.
"I am happy to be part of the Montreal Supermotocross team. I consider them a part of my family," said Jean-Sébastien Roy. "I have been associated with this event for a long time, an event where I have lived the best moments of my career. I hope to be part of the team for a long time to come. This is a new challenge that I am eager to accept. In the upcoming weeks, I will take great pleasure in promoting the Supermotocross, and to talk with enthusiasm about the design of the new tracks."
The Montreal Supermotocross is one of the most popular events of the year presented at the Olympic Stadium, drawing more than 50,000 fans from Quebec, Eastern Ontario, and the bordering states of the USA. More than 150 riders from Canada, the United States, and Europe will participate in this year's competition.
The best seats in the house, as well as all reserved seating, will go on sale Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Terreblanche is looking forward to this coming weekend's GP of Limburg with a fair measure of anticipation.
TERREBLANCHE RARING TO GO AT GP OF LIMBURG 29 JULY 2009 Shannon Terreblanche has completed countless training laps during his European sojourn, but it would be fair to say that far and away the most of these laps were clicked off in the deep sands of Lommel in Belgium. It is there fore no wonder that the South African is looking forward to this coming weekend's GP of Limburg at the selfsame venue with a fair measure of anticipation. Shanter's final race preparation for the Belgian event involved an outing to the fifth round of the ADAC MX masters series in Tensfeld, Germany. The terrain at Tensfeld is rough and sandy, which should under normal circumstances have played right into his hands, but fortune did not favour the Sturm Kawasaki rider on the weekend, and he was unable to turn this to his advantage. Despite being totally unfamiliar with the track, Shanter started his race weekend of well. In a quality field, which most notably included the factory Suzuki pairing of Ken de Dycker and Steve Ramon, he qualified sixth fastest, one of his best ever qualifying results in the series. He barged his way straight into a top 10 position at the start of race 1 on Sunday, and for the first few laps raised quite a number of eyebrows with his ride, forging ever forward. After a few laps, though, he started slowing markedly, and it was clear that something was amiss. ALthough he was clearly experiencing difficulties, he kept plugging away, and finally crossed the line in 14th position. Back in the pits, Shannon revealed that the bike was spluttering intermittently, and at unpredictable intervals. This led t him being fearful of committing to some of the bigger jumps on the track, lest the bike lost power at a critical moment, which held every possibility of depositing him on his conk - not a prospect to relish. The problem was traced to the fuel injection system on the bike which had, on a few occasions during the season, provided the team mechanics with some cause to vent their spleens, and without the benefit of a full replacement system in the spares kit, they did as best they could to rebuild the system by borrowing from the spare bike. A worse start in race 2 gave Shannon a bit of work, and again he charged into the top 10 like a man on a mission. It was not long, though, before the problems resurfaced. If anything, the symptoms were now worse, and in the interests of safety, he retired from the race. He was naturally bitterly disappointed at not having been able to prove his mettle on a surface that suits him, and the nineteenth overall on the day did not give him much reason for cheer either. The only ray of light is that, despite his problems, he had still collected enough points in the first race to advance a few positions to 21st in the championship standings. The team have gone all out to resolve the technical problems once and for all, and the anticipation is high that the South African will have a trouble-free GP on his "home" track in Belgium.

The heat is on as the season starts winding down as the tour heads to Riverglade MX Park in Moncton, NB, for Round 7 on Sunday, August 2nd
With only three rounds left on the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals schedule, the heat is on in both the MX1 and MX2 classes as the tour heads to Riverglade MX Park in Moncton, NB, for Round 7 on Sunday, August 2nd.
Last weekend’s mudfest at Ste-Thècle proved to be a real shake-up in the results, especially where the frontrunners in both title chases are concerned. The fact that the second motos were cancelled for both classes, and that the running time of first MX1 moto was cut in half, dramatically changed the outcome in the points chase. Be sure to watch Monster Energy's Motovision at www.mxpmag.com for a video recap of the day's racing.

Blood Donor Clinic July 29th 2 pm – 8 pm. Blyth Community Centre
As you may already know, on July 29th between the hours of 2:00PM and
8:00PM, the community of Blyth will be making history.
For the first time ever, our community will be the site of a Canadian
Blood Services blood donor clinic.
Due to the size of the community, Blyth has traditionally been
overlooked in efforts to find blood to be used for such things as
cancer treatments, treatment of automobile accident victims and for
those undergoing heart surgery. After more than a year of trying, the
Blyth Masonic Lodge and a number of other community partners, have
convinced Canadian Blood Services to ignore the size of our town, and
to focus on the size of our collective heart.
I have been a part of this community for my entire life and I believe
that we can make a serious contribution to this effort. If you have
been touched by any of the ailments that I have mentioned - or know
someone who has - then you have even more cause to donate or to
volunteer your time at this blood drive.
It takes about an hour to make a donation but that donation can save
up to three lives. Our target is 110 donors at the clinic on the
29th. With that in mind, I would like to ask each and every person
who reads this letter to roll up their sleeve and give.
Let's show everyone that our collective heart is far larger than
expected; let's show that neighbour-helping-neighbour attitude that is
so important to us; and, most importantly, let's help save hundreds of
lives.
Please call 1-888-236-6283 and book your time to donate.

Rain and mud main competition at Ste-Thecle - Round 6 of the CMRC Nationals
Round 6 of the CMRC Nationals in Ste-Thecle, QC turned out to be a worst case scenario, with heavy rains turning the track into a mud bog and forcing cancellation of the MX1 qualifiers and both the second MX2 and MX1 motos.
In the MX1 class, the top 10 were seeded based on their current points standings, with the rest receiving their gate pick by lottery. By the time the first MX1 moto finally got out of the gate – after a lengthy delay for track maintenance – officials had already decided to shorten the race to 15 minutes plus two laps.

KTM dominates mudbowl at Ste-Thecle with McGlynn and Phillips - Monster Energy Motocross Nationals
While the first five rounds of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals managed to escape heaven’s floodgates on race day, Mother Nature wasn’t in the mood to cooperate at Round 6 of the series in Ste-Thecle, QC.
The track, which was mercilessly pounded by heavy rain early in the morning and then after the first MX2 qualifier, turned into a mudbowl as the afternoon progressed. Although it would let up for a while, rain clouds kept dumping more water on the track causing chaos for all concerned.
Forgettable outing for Karro at Foxhill
| ||||||||||||||||||||
FORGETTABLE OUTING FOR KARRO AT FOXHILL 26 July 2009 Motocross races are in a way like family visits - the memory of some you want to treasure for ever and a day, whilst some others you want to consign to the memory trash heap as soon as the day as done. For Matiss Karro, the sixth round of the British motocross championships at Foxhill will, alas, forever fall squarely in the latter category. ALthough chiefly known for his sand-riding skills, the Latvian teenager has produced some remarkable performances on hard-pack tracks of late, and thus the hard track with its intimidating up- and downhills held no particular fear for him. He underscored his growing confidence on this type of terrain by qualifying fifth fastest, which set him up well for a good challenge come the races. Unfortunately for Matiss, this was more or less as far as the good news went. He slotted into the top five off the start in race 1, but a freak occurrence was to take him out of the running quite early. ON the third lap, he cased a triple jump awkwardly on his MVR-D Suzuki, and slammed on the gear lever whilst in full panic-rev mode. Though metallurgy has made great advances over the years, the gear set that could suffer such abuse has not yet been devised, and a number of teeth were stripped off the gears, naturally resulting in a rapid exit from the race. Battered and bruised, Matiss again retired from the race early. Much the worse for wear, his physical discomfort did not pain him so much as the fact that he had now dropped down to fifth in the championship standings. Thus ended a day that the teenager would rather like to forget in a hurry. A quick check on Monday morning revealed that there were no race-threatening injuries, and Matiss will be ready for action at the next GP at Lommel, Belgium, next weekend, albeit decorated with a black and blue colour scheme.
