Racing in Canada and USA

Hello my name is Kyle Stephens, I am 14 years old and I have been racing
motocross since 1997. I race all over Canada and the USA. In Canada I race
125, 250, GP Intermediate and Youth classes. In the USA I race 125, 250 B. I
ride a Kawasaki 250f and 450f. I am a good sportsman on and off the track
and enjoy what I am doing to the fullest.

How I got started:

When I was 5 years old my Mom and Dad bought me a Yamaha pw 50 for my
birthday. I rode around my house all day so much that my parents had to pry
me off the bike. We found out that a track called Eagles Nest you can
practice and they have races there as well. So we went to check it out. I
practice one day at the track and came back the next day to race. This is
where it all began that day I finished 6th and got my first medal. Ever
since then I have raced every weekend in Canada or the USA

Biggest Accomplishment:

Some of my biggest accomplishment would be winning 14 number 1 titles and
over 500 trophies. I have been winning trophies at the Ontario Provincials
and Canadian Nationals Championship since 1999 to 2006. In 2004 I was the
youngest rider to win the Rider Of The Year in Ontario. In 2005 I won the
Canadian National Gaerne Bronze Boot Award. In 2006 my picture was on the
t-shirt of the Canadian Nationals and the shirt was sold out twice. Also in
2006 it is an honor to win the Rick Joseph Memorial Award. These awards you
can only win once in a life time. I have also been to USA Loretta Lynn
Nationals three times. Who knows what 2007 will bring but I hope it will be
another great year.

Goals for the Future:

I would like to win 125, 250, and GP Intermediate class at the Walton TransCan
Canadian Nationals and The Ontario Provincial Championships. In the states I would
like to place top ten in all of the big races in the 125 and 250 B classes.
This will take a lot of training and training is what I will focus on. Most
of all just stay focused and have a good 2007 race year. I also want to turn
pro after the Grand National

What inspires me to compete?

There are many reasons why I am inspired to compete. The first one is my
parents. They always tell me that I can do anything that I put my mind to.
The second thing is the good feeling of winning, knowing that you have done
your best. Thirdly seeing myself in magazines or on back of 2006 Canadian
Nationals t-shirts, it motivates me to push harder, and fourthly my friends
and sponsors telling me that I should never give up in this sport because I
can go a long way. Mostly hearing everyone cheering for me as you fly by
them and having fun at what I am doing.

Why do I like this sport?

I like this sport because it is one of the most physical and mental sports
in the world. When you are not racing then you are training that is what I
like the most. You can ride 24/7 and learn so much knowledge about
motocross. The feeling of winning, hitting a rut right, going through a
awesome section or even getting a great jump out of the gate and knowing
your going to get a good start. I like watching and meeting the Pro riders.
I get to travel all over Canada and the USA and meet all types of friend who
enjoy motocross just as much as I do.

Why do I compete?

I like to compete because I love the thrill and the excitement it has. I
love this sport so much and no other sport interests me like motocross. I
like the thrill of lining up on the gate with 42 other riders and taking off
into the first turn. I also like coming to the races knowing that I will run
with the faster riders or knowing I can podium. Competing is fun, you can
set goals and go after them.
