2009 MX Stars-of-tomorrow pr

The SUPERSHOW MX Stars-of-tomorrow

The Walton TransCan Grand National Championship in conjunction with the 2009 North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW will be hosting the SUPERSHOW MX Stars-of-tomorrow Amateur Motocross rider sponsorship program.

In 2008 ten of the Canada's top amateur motocrossers were offered the chance to be part of the MX Stars-of-tomorrrow exhibit in the Performance & Racing Hall. Racers can gain experience in how to solicit, retain and develop sponsorship plus live stage presentations of these riders with interviews. This concept has allowed these top placing amateurs to promote themselves and helped these successful riders reach the next level in their pursuit of a professional career, while  raising the profile of amateur motocross.

For 2009 invitations have been sent out to potential candidates and an illustrious group of presenters are being confirmed . Show visitors will have a unique opportunity to meet Canada's most elite and accomplished motorcycle athletes in a relaxed atmosphere and to get an autograph. You will be able to say years from now " I met him back when.." for the ultimate bench racing story.

SUPERSHOW’s V.P. of Sales & Marketing, Peter Derry comments “The SUPERSHOW has a long history of supporting motorcycle racing in Canada and we are very excited to turn our attention to the National Amateur Motocross scene in Canada by teaming up with the biggest Event in the National Motocross series, the Walton TransCan GNC."

Canada's Biggest Outdoor Motocross Event - www.waltontranscan.ca

The Walton TransCan Grand National Championship is a week long festival of fun and excitement! For this annual "Celebration of Canadian Motocross," nearly 1,000 motocross riders and their families cross borders and cross the country to compete for Canada's most prestigious motocross awards.

Starting early in the race season every CMRC region in the country hosts amateur national qualifier events to establish who is invited to compete. They arrive early in the week for four days of amateur racing at Walton for the title of CMRC Amateur National Champion.

Walton has the honour of hosting the final round of the nine-race National Pro MX1 Championship, which follows the amateur event schedule. The Pro MX1 championship is highlighted by the presentation of the spectacular "King of Walton" sword to the overall winner during the final round.

Walton also stages the final clash between the top pro MX2 riders. The event has been coined the MX2 Shootout and every year the racing is filled with excitement and controversy as young-gun riders battle for recognition in the last outdoor national event of the year.

Amongst the racing there is also a full slate of social activities: scavenger hunts, bingo, nightly entertainment, paint ball, food court, and lots more. Plus special events like the Heritage race and the popular Canada Cup east/West Challenge.

Every year, over 25,000 visitors have full access to pro and amateur racing pits, where fans are welcomed to mingle with racers, get autographs and posters. Walton also hosts the biggest off-road motorcycle trade show in the country along with live entertainment, freestyle demos, riding demos (with supplied equipment and instructors), beer gardens, helicopter rides, hospitality tent and lots of contests, games and giveaways.

The #1 Motocross Race in Promotion, Presentation and Organization

Over 15 million impressions of combined pre-event promotion, event participation and international post-event coverage help to draw the largest motocross crowd in Canada to the small, quaint town of Walton. Extensive mass media promotion include advertising on television, radio, billboards, Internet, direct mail, print, posters, etc. plus creative co-promotions with some of the region's most successful marketers. Media coverage includes Canadian and US motorcycle magazines, regional television and radio reporting plus national TV coverage is provided by SPI's one hour broadcast on Speed, OLN and the Extreme Sports Channel.

Testimonials

"In my twenty-two years as a motocross journalist I've been to many motocross tracks in Canada and Europe, and Walton is definitely one of my favourites. I know I'm considered a traditionalist but the Walton track offers the best of the past and the present. Of all the events I have attended, including GPs and International MX, the Walton TransCan Grand National ranks up there with the best. My hat goes off to Chris Lee and his family for the passion they put into the sport of motocross." — Wil De Clercq (MX Performance Magazine - Performance Racing News)

"I treasure my summers, I love every minute I spend at the nine rounds of the Monster Energy Nationals, and I love seeing who will rise to the challenge and join the battle for the Canadian title. But there is one thing that I have grown to value even more in recent years: the four days of amateur racing I take in at the Walton TransCan each year. If you are a true fan of Canadian motocross you know what I mean. Spending time at the TransCan reminds you of everything that is great about our sport and it also reminds you of the huge promise and the brilliant future of our young Canadian riders." — Allison Kennedy RacerX Canada Nov '07

About Me

I am entering my 4th and final year of Mechanical (Automotive)
Engineering at the University of Windsor with a strong GPA and have been
on the Dean's List each semester. I've worked various engineering co-op
placements throughout my University Career in the Windsor area and hope
to eventually translate these experiences along with my academic
background and racing skills into an engineering position in the
motocross industry. Additionally, I'm involved in SAE Baja for my fourth
year project, which entails designing, manufacturing, and racing an
offroad vehicle (dune buggy) against universities from around the globe
in an international competition. Did I mention I'm the driver?

I am the producer, editor, director…the man behind the “All the Marbles”
videos. ATM was Canada's first and only full-length motocross DVD and
highlights the annual Walton TransCan, Canada's largest motocross event.
With a larger budget, this season I was able to get a little more help,
and stepped-up the whole caliber of the film to a professional level,
which I produced while working full-time.

Aside from training, racing, university, and video production, I also
play the drums in an emo-rock band called “Sees the
Moment” (www.myspace.com/seesthemoment).

To find out more about me and keep up to date with my racing, check out
my sponsorhouse profile at www.sponsorhouse.com/members/moto955 or my
myspace page at www.myspace.com/dylanlanglois . Or feel free to drop me a
line at dylanlanglois@gmail.com .
