Awesome Autumn Oct 13 final event walk and talk series for active seniors and other interested nature lovers

ABCA to host new event for active seniors:

Awesome Autumn – The Wonders of Fall

to be hosted at Morrison Dam Conservation Area

Active local seniors have the opportunity to stroll through the scenic trails at Morrison Dam Conservation Area to enjoy and learn about the wonders of autumn during this final nature Walk-and-Talk of 2009.

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is hosting an ‘Awesome Autumn – The Wonders of Fall at Morrison Dam’ hike for active seniors on Tuesday, October 13 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Morrison Dam Conservation Area, near Exeter.

“This is a wonderful time of year to head outside and enjoy the outdoor sights, sounds and smells that the fall season provides,” said Julie Stellingwerff, ABCA Conservation Education Specialist.

The October 13 event should be an attractive finale to the popular four-part series, as participants will come along on a two-hour interpretive walk-and-talk, focusing on the season’s last wildflowers, migrating birds and fall’s fantastic colours.

The event is ideal for seniors but anyone is welcome to attend the event, according to organizers. Interested people can meet ABCA staff at the workshop behind the ABCA Administration Office. Participants are encouraged to bring a hat, a bottle of water, and comfortable shoes, as they will be hiking in the conservation area. The cost is $5 per person and beverages will be available afterwards (please bring your own mug).

The ABCA Administration Office is located at 71108 Morrison Line, Exeter, Ontario, just two kilometres east of Exeter (40 minutes north of London, and 45 minutes southeast of Goderich).
