The last two weekends have been warm up races for me preparing for the first Ontario Provincial which is this coming weekend in Auburn.
Two weekends ago I just did a local club race in Wheatley and took 1st overall in the "A" class.
This past weekend I raced a Spring Series race at Gopher Dunes. Spring races don't have individual 250 and 450 Pro classes - just an Open Pro and Youth (16-24). That said, the plan was to just ride the 450 in both classes - that plan quickly ended with a rad leak in practice which left me riding the 250f against a field on 450's all day.
I rode tight the 1st Pro moto - combination of first race gitters, a last place start (literally) and not having practiced on the bike before the race. Whatever the case, I got arm pump, sucked, and finished 13th. The second pro moto wasn't a lot better with another last place start (I wish I was exaggerating), again I could only get to 13th. (13th overall / 18 riders)
Youth went a lot better - mostly because it was shortly after the Pro motos and I was already warmed up which meant no arm pump. I rode a lot better, had better starts, some good battles, and ended up 5th overall / 19 riders.
All and all not a bad day - although not the results I wanted.
Good to have the first race done and I'm really looking forward to Auburn this weekend.
I should have all my new graphics by Friday and will hopefully send some pics next week.
Thanks!
