Last weekend I made the long 8 hour hike up to Richmond (Ottawa) for
Round 2 of the Provincials. It was like a mini national up there with
lots of big name pro's showing up including the entire Factory KTM
team, the Factory Suzuki team, and Colton Facciotti #1 which made for
some stiff competition (for a provincial). The weather was perfect all
weekend, and I want to give a special thanks for "OG" George for
coming up with me and helping out all weekend and roughing it in the
Sprinter- not to mention having to borrow tools all weekend since I
left my toolbox at home!
Anyways, here's my results:
MX2 Pro --> 8, 8 - 7th overall / 11
MX1 Pro --> 12, 11 - 12th overall / 16
Youth --> 6, 5 - 5th overall / 13
Like I said, the Pro classes were pretty stacked with Factory riders
which left me further back in the field than I'd like to be but to put
it in perspective I was happy with how I rode for the most part and
beat the guys who I should of beat. I didn't get tired in the 20
minute Pro motos and even rode the extra (Youth) class for practice
which didn't phase me. My biggest problem seems to be my starts and my
first 2 laps. If I'm not on the ground, then I'm at the back of the
pack and with the relatively short motos I can't make it to the front
half of the pack with out a better beginning of my race. Tha'ts what
I'll be working on until Round 3 in Walton in 3 weeks.
Thanks for reading!
