MCC LATEST NEWS
May 2009
Dear Chris,

It's RIDING season!! (Okay... in BC, you've been riding, like, forever...).  The snow and ice is off the roads, most of the residue (sand, grit) of the winter has been cleaned up, and trails are opening up.  Get out and RIDE!  And when you do, remember the three "R's" of responsible motorcycling.  RESPECT YOURSELF:  Maybe you're a bit rusty?  Consider a warm-up or a refresher.  Give your ride the skills it deserves.  RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBOURS:  Loud pipes cost rights!  Street riding or off-road. Quiet down.  Or "be quieted" by regulators!!   RESPECT THE LAND:  They're not making any more.  Don't tear it up.  Don't enter restricted areas.  AND SUPPORT A CLUB!! Spare a few bucks.  They're working for YOU!

SITTING DOWN WITH REGULATORS
sitMCC SITS DOWN WITH FEDERAL/PROVINCIAL TRANSPORT REGULATORS - -  As an Associate Member (and conference sponsor) of the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA), MCC meets with the senior staff of various transport ministries across Canada and adds a motorcycling perspective to policies and programs.  MCC also sits on the Motorcycle Expert Group of the Vulnerable Road Users Task Force (part of the Road Safety Research and Policy Standing Committee).  Recently, MCC was present at the CCMTA Annual Conference in Regina SK.  Among other things we learned:  Saskatchewan is expanding the delivery of Rider Training in the province and moving towards mandatory training to earn a motorcycle license.
HALL OF FAME BANQUET & REUNION
HofMayth
HALL OF FAME INDUCTION BANQUET & REUNION - OCTOBER 24, 2009  -- is arguably THE motorcycle event of the year, and you should plan to be there. The presentations are superb, and the stories are inspiring and often heart-wrenching.  Note the date, and watch for early bird ticket purchase opportunities this summer.  In 2010, the celebration will leave Toronto and move around the country.
