Get ready to follow the "Forbidden" Couple

Motorcycle-enthusiasts beware. Huron and Perth Counties have partnered up to create a unique ‚"forbidden" motorcycle weekend on May 22 & 23, 2009 and we encourage you to steal away and have some ‚"forbidden" fun with us! "We have been seeing more and more motorcyclists ride through our areas" says Cathy Bieman, Perth County Visitors Association co-ordinator "We want to be able to show all different tourists our beautiful area."

Mark Friday May 22, 2009 on your calendar and plan to attend the inaugural ‚"biker's night" at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, with $61.00 tickets, up to a 55% discount (this show only)!  Wear your leathers and gear, as we take in the production of ‚"West Side Story". On Saturday May 23, 2009 bikers are encouraged to savour breakfast and take in some shopping in the area.  Then at 10:30 a.m. bike enthusiasts are to make their way east to Shakespeare to the brand new Perth County Welcome Centre from which the ‚"Forbidden Ride‚" will begin.

This charity ride (cost $20) across Perth and Huron counties is being used to launch the brand new " Ride Huron Perth Motorcycle Map" in addition to raising funds and awareness for the Huron-Perth Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization. The ride will twist and turn from countryside to coastline, with bikers looking for five of ten stamps on the roads through many of Huron and Perth's beautiful towns. "Leading the way on this Forbidden Ride will be local icons Judy Watt and Marty Martens," stated Jenna Ujiye, Tourism Marketer for the County of Huron, "who themselves have written their own biker love story."

On Friday May 22, 2009 prior to the performance, bikers are invited to cruise as a group around scenic Stratford and participate in a photo op on the steps of the Stratford Festival Theatre. Then you will be ushered inside to our priority seating to see gangs, guns, dancers and forbidden love on the gritty streets of New York City!

With riveting dance numbers, a sexy cast and a suspenseful story full of rival gangs and wistful lovers, this isn't your average theatre experience. ‚" We wanted to create a great experience for the riders in this area,"  mentioned Helen Down, Forbidden Ride event co-ordinator " Partnering with the Festival has been a great experience."

Directed by the acclaimed Gary Griffin (The Colour Purple), this musical will be presented for the first time on the iconic Festival Stage and you can be there to witness it live! To reserve seats and to make history, call 1.800.567.1600 and quote promotion code 26255.

After some well-deserved R & R in one of our motorcycle-friendly accommodations The "Forbidden Ride" will take you from countryside to coastline, stopping at various attractions throughout the two counties so you can explore the luscious landscape and forbidden finds we have to offer!

The ride will end on Cove beach in beautiful Goderich, where a delicious BBQ featuring local foods, live music and great prizes will await you.  We look forward to welcoming you to this inaugural weekend of forbidden food & fun in Huron & Perth Counties.
