July at Gopher Dunes

So what's happening at Gopher Dunes in July?

We've had a busy 5-weekend stretch of events at the Dunes with a Hully Gully Poker Run on May 31, which offered trophies and prizes galore to all of our participants.  It was followed by a successful and well-attended 65cc Group Training Session on June 6 & a Thames Valley Riders Club Race on June 7.

Then on June 13 & 14 we hosted a competitive CMRC 2-day ATV Provincial Race, followed by a CMRC 1-day Motocross Provincial Race on June 21, and then this past Sunday we just wrapped up our first-ever 'Summer' 4x4 MudFest for the truck-lovin' mud-boggin' crowd of enthusiasts with 258 truck/jeep entrants.  The positive feedback and comments on our completely revamped and redesigned mudbog pits and trail section proved to make the endless efforts and hours of work and design that much more worthwhile......and for those mud-boggers that missed challenging this newly designed course.....make sure you mark September 27 on your calendar, as that is when we'll be hosting our Fall 4x4 MudFest, same location!

So more BIG things are happening in July -- with Gopher Dunes once again making its mark on the map as we host Round 5 of the Monster Energy Pro National Motocross Races on Sunday, July 19, and Saturday, July 18 will be the CMRC Amateur Race Day.

With vacation time and summer holidays now underway, the momentum is increasing for enthusiasts calling and emailing to schedule in some private and semi-private or family group training sessions.  This consists of anything from first-time beginner dirt bike and ATV enthusiasts just interested in learning the basics and safety aspects of off-roading; to advanced levels for those racers wanting to improve on their motocross and quad racing skills.  Private training is offered mid-week only and a few days notice is required to confirm a time slot with an instructor.  Bike and ATV rentals are also available, but with it comes a mandatory minimum of one hour basic safety and riding instruction.  Once trained, the rider can then rent the same bike or quad for additional hours throughout the season on an hourly basis.  For more details contact Barb at info@gopherdunes.com or call 519-842-2781.
We still have some space available for our full-day Group Training Sessions:  Saturday, July 11 for the 50cc riders & for our 2-day MX Training Session on July 7 & 8 offered to 85cc to 450cc riders.  Registration forms can be accessed off the Training Link of the www.gopherdunes.com site.
Don't delay & register now!
