AMA ice racing tour coming to the Kitchener Auditorium Saturday, Feb. 27

KITCHENER - A racing tour like no other is hitting the ice at The Aud on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 27 for this exciting new sport that takes racing to a whole new level.

Xtreme International Ice Racing (XiiR) is a professional racing tour featuring speedway bikes and quads...on ice! This event is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.

The vehicles are modified and compete on an indoor ice track. The machines have 1,600 razor-sharp steel studs added to the tires for traction.

And there aren't any brakes.

The average car has a maximum 8,000 revs, whereas an ice speedway bike has a maximum 14,000 revs. Human and machine accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in less than three seconds.

Tickets are $35 VIP, $25 reserved seating, $20 general admission. There is $5 off general admission seating for children 12 and under.

Tickets are available by calling 519-578-1570 or 1-800-265-8977; online at www.centre-square.com or in person at The Aud box office.
